prathamo'dhyāyaḥ

om namastārāyai|

vijñāyante svavacanasaraṇiṃ ramaṇīyatamā guṇigaṇāvaśiṣṭām
udayanavacanāt svavacana-[caraṇa] hatisaraṇiṃ bhaṇiṣyāmi|

iha khalu viśālaśailamekhalāsthūlasthāṇusthānīye (2) parasya (jñāna prasūtapṛṣṭha) śrīmat jñānaśrīmitrapādīyamuktasāmarthyāsāmarthyātprasphuṭita upaśaṅkātaḥ sāmarthyāsāmarthyaviruddhadharmasaṃsargeṇa bhedasiddhau tatsiddhiriti sattvādiṣupareṇaśleṣitaṃ kliśyate|

avikalena hi sakaladūṣyakeṇa (3) hi pālanā pratyakṣataḥ pṛthvīpavanapāśraḥ pratyarthivījāni parasparopasarpaṇasampūrṇapratyayapratyarjitasannidhānāni tadudbhūtasvādhīnavarddhiṣṇutādiguṇaramaṇīyapariṇatyā pravardhante (4) prarohaṃ pratipratyayabhāvajānya [bhāvajāni]prabhāvyante| yathoktaviśeṣaṇapratyayatvameṣāṃ pratyātmapratiṣṭhādhiṣṭhitasauṣṭhavapṛṣṭapratyakṣānupalambhasambhavānvayavyatirekapa (5) rikalpanā tasyā upalālitasakalitasahakārisākalyaviśeṣaṇasārupyamavasthāpanīyamaparathā pratyayāntarapratyāsattisāpekṣatve bījasyeva kramayau (6) gapadyaviśeṣasauṣṭhavasphuṭitamupādhāvagrimakṣaṇasyāpi sahakārisākalyāsākalyāvasthayoḥ sthitāsthitatayā prarohaṃ prati pratyetuṃ pāryeta| tathā ca kuśūlakukṣikuṇḍalitakṣaṇā (7) dhikatcāt sahakārikṣaṇakrameṇa kedārākrāntakalevaraṃ kadambakamekamanekambeti vistarata vicāracakramapakramante| kiṃ cet na tayo ka (8) thitamidamuttānīkrameṇa sahakārisahacaritapratyayapratyāsattibhrāntasvabhāvāntaramintyupakṣipya pakṣapratipakṣapa- rijighṛkṣākṣāntahṛdayā sādhakamidamiti jñāpakavirodhe vyāharanti|

jighṛkṣāsāmarthyasamarthanādau sākṣādvayavahatuṃ tattadā tatkarotyādi tatkarotyeva vā yathā (2) ca yasya nehaḥ sandohaniḥ sandehapariṇatau praṇatidehotkṛṣṭaḥ yathāprakāśitasādhanātattvaprasādhanaśca kevalopi kṣaṇatvapadārthaḥ na ca kevalastathābhū(3) topi karotyapīti karotyeveti vā pratyākalitaḥ sa eṣa prasaṅgaprasaṅgato viparyayaḥ pūrvāparakālamilitakaraṇākaraṇayorādhārabhedañca saṃdīpayati| tathāhi (4) paryavasāne janakatvamabhimatakārye paryālocitaṃ pramāṇena pratyekamavasthitam|

anvayavyatirekābhyāṃ dharādhāmādisākalyaṃ ślathayitvā viśeṣaṇaṃ parāparabhāvabhaṅgayā svaviśeṣavyāptamālocyanimatyantāyogavyavacchedāyogavyavacchedacchadicchannamunnīyate -

nirviśeṣaṃ hi sāmānyaṃ bhave (6) cchaśaviṣāṇavat|
nirviśeṣaṇaṃ kartṛtvaṃ bhavedvandhyāsutāsamam||

tasmādasmatpratibhāvarṇabhāvasthāpratibhāsaprabhāvāt bhāvānāṃ kintatraiva tathā (7) bhadantaiḥ paramaparāparasadṛśatā ca svabhāvāntarānubhavitaikapratisantānaṃ bandhyatvamakartṛtvaṃ keśakuntalakamalakāṇḍāt svaravatsaṃvedanīyam| tat(8) tapanādisahacarabhedasampāditatattadādibhedo darśyatāṃ pūrvāparāvasthā pāramārthikā bhedajñā pratyabhijñā paramaviśvāsasarvasvaṃ bibhrati bhramimūrṣaṇīyeti| pakṣa dva-(9) yānugrahanigrahe hetuḥ hetubhāva eva bhāvanāṃ saṃdūṣyate bhavyena| tathāhi, tatkartṛtvaṃ pareṣu madhyasthamiva vādiprativādisammatabilambakāritvāt sapakṣāditvaviśeṣasiddhiviśleṣe'pi suśleṣakauśalabalābalambīvānumatamubhayabhūmibhāginorapi bhāvato bhūtoktipravṛttayostathābhūtañca bhāvyamānaṃ kartṛtvarūpaṃ kiṃ tattvato'tyantāyogavyavacchinnanirvartmathābhūtañca bhāvyamānaṃ kartṛtvarūpaṃ kiṃ tattvato'tyantāyogavyavacchinnanirvartmakartṛtvarūpamucchavibhramabhūmi - bhūtānubhavavyavasthānamanavasthitamapi anumanyate mānyena anyena vā prakāreṇa yadutāyogavyavacchinnakartṛ -(3) -tvarūpamutkīrtayitavyam, vyapetānubhavādivyavasthamapi svasthayaḥ sthaviravādivṛndavṛndārakānantarakathitapakṣayoranyatarāṅgokārakārāgāragraheṇa| arthagṛ(4)hītau-paryāyato dvāvapi dvāparadvārālaṅkṛtau kathaya ko'tra nistrāṇamāpadyate avadyaprabheda iti ceducyate| ayameva prasaṅgaḥ yaduta yadyadā (5) yatsamarthavyavasthānasthānaṃ tattadā tatkarotyapi yathā sāmagryavasthāyāṃ vikalakālakalāyāmapi pūrvādikāyāmakathitasāmarthyavyavasthānaṃ sthānañca (6) kāñcanakāryamaryādāmādāya darśito bhāvabhedaḥ ityantāyogavyavacchedakartṛtvapakṣe lakṣayitavyaḥ prasaṅgaḥ| na ca kadācidapi vedyate niḥsahacarasa (7) hakāricakraḥ prakramamāṇaḥ kartu matyantāyogavyavacchedena abhimato bhāvaḥ svakāryamityāvarjanīyo viparyayaścātra| tathāpi syāt anekāntaśāntāvanamutthitāyāmabhitticitrakarmmapratimamidamābhāti| tathāhi sāmarthyavyavahārayogyatvepi prasaṅgasādhane kīddaśarktṛtvapravartitaśaktavyavasthānamākṣepamakṣe-(p. 5)-pakāritvavasya prasādhakapramāṇaprasthāpanārthatvāt| sahakārisākalye satyeva karotīti vilambakāritvalakṣaṇaśca kevalāvasthāyāṃ prasajjayitumaśakyatvāt| sahakā-(2) risākalye sati karotyevetyevaṃ svabhāvakartutvakīrtane'kīrtiḥ karitalabilambitaiva sthiviravādānukulatvātkukṣitvādasya pakṣasya hantanitāntanirmalaiḥ subhāṣitabhānubhiranunnameva pareṣāṃ mohatamaḥ| yadevaṃ sākalyaṃ sahakārikalpaṃ bījakartṛtvaviśeṣaṇaṃ prakṣipya parapakṣaḥ kṣubhyate'kṣepakāritvamapi tadviśe(4) ṣarūpaṃ pramāṇaprasiddhaṃ anurudhya bādhyate sādhuḥ yasmādakṣepakāritvānapekṣakāritvaṃ kartṛtvasāmānyasyāntyāvasthāyāṃ pratyakṣānupalambhasambhāvita (5) sya vyaktiprabhedatayā vyāpakaṃ sambhāvya prakārāntarāpratīteranakṣepakartṛtvarūpaṃ kartṛtvasāmānyasya pariṇāmamanumanyase prasaṅgasaṅgatau (6) nāṅgatā saṅgacchate doṣasya| tathāhi hetusāhitye'pi bījasya kartṛtvaṃ dṛśyamānaṃ na sāhityena viśeṣaṇīyaṃ śilāśakalāderapi tathātvaprāpteḥ apitu kevalyai (7) va bījasya pratyekamavasthitaṃ anvayavyatirekayoravagamena pāṣāṇakulasya sāhityabahirbhāvabhajanāt| pratyekatvañca na ca viśiṣyamāṇaṃ kartṛtvaṃ bīja-(8)-sya pratyekatvābhāvasvabhāvo' pratyekarūpaḥ sahakāricakrasaṃparkaḥ kathaṃ viśeṣaṃ śaknuyāt nahi cakṣurnāsti tena ca viśiṣṭamiti śiṣṭeṣṭaḥ pakṣaḥ| athāpi pra (9) tyekatvasya sāhitye pratyekamanvayādergṛhītau nāpratyekatvena viśiṣyata taduttarakālaṃ punarviśeṣaṇīyaṃ etāvanti sahakārīṇi sahitāni hi tā ni kāryāyeti pāṭhāntara aparahastena sāmagrīmīhamāno mānocitastāmevādatte sāmagrīpāṣāṇatalākīrṇāmapīti cet n akāraṇavikalpakatvādeva nopādīyate (2) kāryārthinā śilāśakalādiko bhāvaḥ| kintayā viśiṣya karaṇīyaṃ yadā tu viśeṣaṇametādṛśaṃ apasāritam| atha tadānīṃ avaśiṣyamāṇaṃ brīhikalevaraṃ kāraṇatvena niṣṭaṅkitena (3) atyantāyogavyacchedānumitau kevalamapi kadācitkarotu sāmagrīsamavagraha kāla iti prasaṅgasaṅkīrṇavataḥ prathano manorathonmatho'yaṃ prārthitodoṣaḥ prārthitaḥ (4) tadayuktam -

sāmarthya hi kṛtiḥ yogyatā vā ? nādyaḥ sādhyāviśiṣṭatvaprasaṅgāt| nāpi dvitīyaḥ sā hi sahakārisākalyaṃ yā| pratisvikī vā, nādyaḥ siddhasādhanatvāt, parānabhyupagamena (5) hetvasiddhiśca yatsahakārisamavadhānavattaddhi karotyeveti ko nāma nābhyupaiti yamuddaśya| sādhyate, na cākaraṇakāle sahakārisamavadhānavanto'smānabhyupeyate (6) yataḥ prasaṅga pravarteta| prātisvikī tu yogyatā anvayavyatirekaviṣayībhūtaṃ bījatvaṃ vā syāt tadavāntarajātibhedo vā| sahakārivaikalyaprayuktakāryābhāvavatvaṃ vā| nādyaḥ (7) akurvvatopi bījajātīyasya pratyakṣasiddhatvāt| tavāpi tatrāvipratipatteḥ| netaraḥ tasya kurvatyapi mayānabhyupagamena dṛṣṭāntasya sādhanavikalatvāt| ko hi nāma susthātmā (8) pramāṇaśūnyamabhyupagacchet| sa hi na pratyakṣeṇa anubhūyate tathā'navasāyāt | nāpyanumānena liṅgābhāvāt| yadi na kaścidviśeṣa, kathaṃ tarhi karaṇākaraṇe cet (9) ka evamāha neti| kiṃ jāti bhedarūpaḥ sahakārilābhālābharūpo veti niyāmakaṃ pramāṇamanusaranto na paśyāmaḥ tathāpi yo'yaṃ sahakārimadhyamadhyāsī no''kṣepakaraṇasvabhāvo bhāvaḥ sa yadi prāgapyāsīt tadā prasahya kārya kurvāṇo gīrvāṇaśāpaśatenāpyapahastayituṃ na śakyate, iti cet”| yuktametat yadyakṣepakaraṇasvabhāvatvaṃ bhāvasya pramāṇagocaraḥ syāt kutaḥ tatsiddhamiti cet na vidbhaḥ| prasaṃga tadviparyayāmyāṃ tatsiddhiriti ce na, parasparāśrayaprasaṅgāt| evaṃ svabhāvatvasiddhau hi tayo pravṛttistat pravṛttau ca caivaṃ svabhāvatvasiddhiriti|

“syādetata kāryajanmaivāsminnarthai pramāṇaṃ vilambakārisvabhāvānuvṛttau kāryānutpatti sarvadeti cet|” na, bilambakārisvabhāvasya sarvadaivākaraṇe (4) tattvavyāghātāt| tataśca bilambakārītyasya yāvatsahakāryasannidhānaṃ tāvanna karotītyarthaḥ| evaṃ ca kāryajanmasāmagryāṃ pramāṇayituṃ na śakyate na tu jātibhede| te tu kiṃ (5) yathānubhavaṃ parasparasāpekṣā vilambakāritvabhāvāḥ parasparaṃ pratyāsannāḥ kārya kṛtavantaḥ kiṃ vā yathātvaparikalpane kṣiprakārisvabhāvā inyatra (6)kāryopajananamajāgarūkameveti|

nāpi tṛtīyaḥ, virodhāt sahakāryabhāvaprayuktakāryābhāvavāṃśca sahakārivirahe kāryāvāṃśceti vyāhatam| (7) tasmād yadyadabhāva eva yanna karoti tattadabhāva tatkarotyeti syāt| etacca sthairyasiddhereva paraṃ bījasarvasvamiti etena samarthavyavahāraocarattvaṃ heturiti nirastam| tādṛgvyavahāra(8) gocarasyāpi bījasyāṃkurākaraṇadarśanāt| nāsau mukhyastatravyavahāraḥ| tasya janananimittatvāt| “anyathātvaniyamaprasaṅgāditi ceti, na, kīdṛśaṃ punarjana (9) naṃ mukhyasamarthavyavahāranimittam| na tāvadākṣepakaraṇaṃ nimittaṃ tasyāsiddheḥ| niyamasya ca sahakārādisākalye satyeva karaṇa karaṇameveti ye evaṃ svabhāvatvenāpyu-patteḥ| tataśca janananimitta evāyaṃ vyavahāro na ca vyāptisiddhiriti|”

jaraṭhakamaṭhapṛṣṭhakarparakaṇeramatikaṭukūṭaprakaṭanapaṭalamativikaṭamatipāṭavāḍhyo yena (2) vipāṭitamasyeti narīnṛtyatāṃ tribhuvananagaranartanaṭīvādakīrtanakīrtiḥ kṛtikadambakasyeti kimadhikamatra sambadanīyam| etenāyogavyava, cchedena kartṛttvaṃ (3) kartṛtvasāmānyapariṇāmamapi purodhāya dhūrtabrūvasvasvīkaraṇamaśaraṇamārabdhamevaṃ yadyadā yatkaraṇasamarthavyavahārābhyaṅgastaṃ tattadā tatkarotyeva yathāntyāva (4) sthāyāṃ prāk pṛthagavasthāyāmapi bījamabījaparājitvarasatvaramevaṃvidhamavadhāritam| na ca karotyeveti tadviparyayaparyāṃlocanā rpyastanitāntāntaḥ (5) karaṇena kṛtinā sampattavyam| tadevamabījaparāvṛttaṃbījaṃ dharmapratyakṣānupalambhārambhasambhāvitānvayavyatirekikāryatayā nirṇītakartṛtvasāmānyajamākṣiptākṣepa (6) kāritvānakṣepakāritvalakṣaṇajananajanitaṃ tatsamarthavyavahārayogyatvaṃ sādhanaṃ sādhyañcātra karotyapi karotyeveti vā kartṛtvadvayaṃ paryāyato yathā parābhyupagamaṃ svayamapi (7) sambhavati pakṣadvayasya pratikṣepālakṣaṇātsāmānyasya viśeṣāvyāpteḥ sambhavāt| pakṣadvayasyāpekṣyāpi lakṣayitavyamevaṃ prasaṅgatadviparyayamaparyāsitaṃ kṣaṇenāpi dūṣa (1) ṇagaṇasya yadyatkaraṇasamarthavyavaharaṇakāraṇatvābharaṇasya tamupalabdhaṃ tattadākaraṇavat yathāntyāyāṃ daśāyāṃ prākpṛthagavasthāyāmapi bījamajātajaratvamanu(2) matam| evamekapratyavamarśamasṛṇamanīṣayā manīṣijanena| na ca nicīyamānamāmnātamapi kadācanāpi kevalaṃ karaṇena duścalakukṣinikṣepādidaśāyāṃ (3) diśopi daśāśeṣā paryaṭatā prāṇivādena pratyekasyāsya janakatvamavadhāritam| ato na paritoṣaḥ sākalyasya svasvabodhena samādhānena ca budhaparārthyasya pratyekami(4) tyaṅgīkaraṇe svābhāvasvābhāvyamabhāvapratiyogitvaṃ tadaiveti sahitaṃ tatraiveti sahitaṃ ubhayasahitaṃ tathaiveti sahitamāsaktamiti svakāṇḍa (5) daṇḍakhaṇḍitāḍambaraṃ svavacanasamvaraṇamapi palāyanaparāgaṇamāpātitamiti vipadeṣā samūladhātacyuti kathaṃ pratikartavyeti| dūrataralalocanapracala(6) jaladasrāsrudhārāsahasreṇā pi na trāṇamāmaraṇāntamārtakātaratvaravādino varākasyeti sānukrośamapi svāntasantarayati na vādavidhau vācā(7) lagalitāmityalamalīkakāvyakalpanājalpairanalpairnyāyābhiniveśī bhava bhavyopi nyāyanītau| “(1) tathāhi kastavāyaṃ nyāyaḥ atha etāvatāpi bhāvasya kaḥ svabhāvaḥ samarthito bhavati| nahi pakṣavipakṣābhyāmanyaḥ prakāro'stīti cet na dūṣaṇābhidhānasamaye niścayābhāvenaiva sandigdhāsiddhinirvāhe kathāpūrvarūpaparya (8) vasānādityanena|” prasaṅgasādhanaṃ parāmyupagamena vā saṃbhāvyamānatayā vā prakārāntarābhāvāt prastūyate| tatra sandigdhāsiddhatvamuktvā dūṣaṇameva mayaiva nābhyupagatamiti cet taccintyatāṃ kartṛtvamanumanyase tāvad tacca yāvat pūrvasthitameva pratyabhijñāśritya ityāśrayobījātmakaṃ yatkāryamavyapekṣakamanvayavyatirekāsāmarthyāvasthita(2) tathābhāvaṃ tāvadatyantāyogavyavacchedanakartṛtvarupaṃ paryavasitamabhaṅgameva prasaṅgasya kathaṃ saṃdigdhāsiddhadoṣeṇa śoṣayituṃ śakyam| ākṣepakāritvamapi tatrādhiṣṭhitā (3) ta bhāgādidantayādhiṣṭhitaṃ bhāgaṃ sākalyagarbbhāvirbhūtaṃ bhāvayitvā sambhāvitaṃ tato'dhiṣṭhitaṃ bhāge'vinirbhāgabhāvinaṃ bhāvato bhāṣyate tadeva bījaṃ pūrvamapyāsīditi (4) tadākṣepakāritvakṣaṇajananajanitasamarthavyavahārayogyatvaṃ prasaṅgasādhanaṃ kathaṃ saṃdigdhāsiddhyā vidhūnanīyaṃ iti na prativādisamāśritottarapakṣapratānakathāpū (5) rvvabhāgaḥ svarūpabhaṅgamanaṅgīkṛtyāstīti vyastamakhiladoṣodbhāvananigrahādhikaraṇaprasaṅgavat| ubhayamapi akṣepakāritvānapekṣakāritvamanullikhyai (6) va bījaṃ kevalaṃ sahakārimadhye'pyavasitakartṛbhāvaṃ prāgapi kurvan tathābhūtamiti bhāvato bhāṣasva susadhisādhibādhanam| [samādhimādhibādhanam ]

nanu bhāṣita eva samādhiḥ| tathāhi -kṛ(7) tiṃ prati-avilamba iti bhāvaḥ| kimutpatteranantarameva kṛtiḥ sahakārisamavadhānāntaraṃ vāvilamba iti ko'rthaḥ ? kiṃ yāvanna sahakārisamarthānā samavadhānaṃ tāvadakaraṇaṃ sarva(8) thaivākaraṇamiti vā| tatra prathamacaturthayoḥ pramāṇābhāvāt, aniścaye dvitīyatṛtīyatoḥ pratyakṣameva pramāṇaṃ bījajātīyasya hi sahakārisamavadhānāntarakara (9) karaṇa-karaṇameveti pratyakṣasiddhameva| tathā sahakāri samavadhānarahitasyākaraṇamityapi| atra ca tavāpi na vigatiḥ eṣa pramāṇasiddhatvāt viparyaye vā dhakācca| tathāhi yadi sahakārivirahe'kurvvāṇastatsamavadhāne'pi na kuryāt tajjātīyamakāraṇameva syāt| samavadhānāsamavadhānayorubhayorapyakaraṇāt| evaṃ yadi tatsamavadhāna (2) virahe'pi kuryāt sahakāriṇo na kāraṇaṃ syuḥ tānantareṇāpi karaṇāt| tathā cānanyathāsiddhānvayavyatirekavatāmapyakāraṇatve kāryasyākasmikatvaprasaṅgaḥ (3) tathā kādācitkatvavihatiriti| evañca dvitīyapakṣa vivakṣāyāmakṣepakāritvameva bhāvasya svabhāvaḥ| tṛtīyapakṣavivakṣāgāntu kṣepakāritvameva bhāvasya svarūpamiti nobhayaprakāranivṛttiriti| ta eva (etat) aho apūrvo'yamasya dambhārambhaḥ sa bhramabhūmibhūyiṣṭhabhautabalabhojaphalambhoja sthitaḥ kaṣṭayati bhūtabhāṣaṇabhūṣaṇamapibhrātṛvyasa (5) mupetaṃ tathā he he bhaiṣī ca praṇayaramaṇīyabhāṣaṇabhūmnā svasamānmāyanāmānaṃ arthasārtha sahakārisāhityamaparityajya samarthanaṃ te tatvataḥ sāhityamudāhṛtya tacca tat(6) kṛtamiti vikrītagavīrakṣaṇavṛttāntamupaharati| tathaukteranantaraṃ vyākṛtiniścale kīrtimata saṃkīrtyate ‘sādhanatvena pramāṇaphalaṃ hitat| sati hi (7) kṣaṇakṣīṇatopalakṣaṇena prekṣāvāṃśca kṣaṇiko'kṣepapakṣapramukhānāṃ yathāsukhasukhaṃ lekhayāpi khaṇḍayituṃ duḥśaktam| idṛśasaśaktisamarthanam| tasmādācā (8) ryavacanāt tameva śruti-śrutipuṭakena kaṇehṛtya prīyatāṃ prītyā na sa sāhityepi pararupeṇa karttā svarūpañcatasya prāgapīti prāgapi kuryāditi| yadapyamunā (9) nayena vivadatā vādini susthitam| tathāpi kiṃ asamarthasyaiva sahakārivirahaḥ svarūpalābhānantaraṃ kartureva vā sahakārisamavadhānamanyathā neti ki niyāmaka (10) miti cet ‘idamucyate kuśūlasthabījasyāṃkurānukūlaḥ śilāśakalādviśeṣaḥ kaścidasti na vā, na cenniyamena ekatra pravṛttireva na syānnivṛttiśca tadarthino na syāt paramparayā'ṅkuraprasavasamarthabījakṣaṇajananādastyeveti cet - kadā punaḥ paramparayāpi tathābhūtaṃ kariṣyatīti| tatra sandeha iti cet| sa punaḥ kimākāraḥ kiṃ sahakāriṣu (2) samavahiteṣvapi teṣu kariṣyati na veti| uta asamavahiteṣvapi kariṣyati na veti| atha yadā sahakārisamavadhānaṃ tadaiva kariṣyatyeveti| kadā teṣāṃ samavadhānamiti (3)sandehaḥ| nādyaḥ samānyataḥ kāraṇatvānavadhāraṇaitasyānavakāśāt| avakāśe vā kāraṇatvāvadhāraṇāt| netaraḥ sahakāriṇāṃ tattvāvadhāraṇe tasyāna (4) vakāśāt, avakāśe vā teṣāṃ tattvānavadhāraṇāt| tṛtīye tu sarva eva tatsantānāntaḥpātino bījakṣaṇāḥ samānaśīlā prapnuvanti yatra tatra sahakāri (5) samavadhāne sati kṛti niyamāt sarvatra ca sahakārisamavadhānasambhavāt| ‘samartha eva kṣaṇe kṣityādisamavadhānamiti cet- tatkimasama(6)rthe sahakārisamavadhānameva na| samavadhāne satyapi vā na tasmātkāryajanma| nādyaḥ śilāśakalādāvapi kṣitisalilatejaḥ pavana yoga(7) darśanāt| netaraḥ śilāśakalādiva kadācitsahakārisākalyavatopi vījādaṅkurānutpattiprasaṅgāt|” evamapisyāt| ko doṣa iti cet(8) na tāvadidamupalabdham| āśaṅkayata iti cenna tatsannidhāne satyapi akaraṇavat tadvirahepi karaṇayogamapyāśaṅkyeta āśaṅkyatāmiti cet-tarhi bījavirahe'pi āśaṅkyeta| tathā ca sādhvī (9) pratyakṣānupalambhapariśuddhiḥ| syādetat na bījādīnāṃ parasparasamavadhānavatāmeva kāryakaraṇamaṅgīkṛtyāśaṅkyate yena samavadhānāniyamā sarveṣāmbā tajjātī yānāmekarasatā niścayaḥ syāt| nāpi yatra tatra samarthopapattimaṅgīkṛtya yena vikalaibhyo'pi kāryajanmasambhāvanāyāṃ pratyakṣānupalambhavirodhaḥsyāt| kinnāma bījādiṣu sa (2) mavahiteṣvavāntarajātiviśeṣamāśrityāpi kāryajanmasambhāvyata iti|” na dṛṣṭasamavadhānamātreṇaiva upapattau tatkalpanāyāṃ pramāṇābhāvāt kalpanāgauravaprasaṅgaḥ (3) pratihatatvāt atīndriyendriyādivilopaprasaṅgāt kalpanānupapatterviśeṣasya viśeṣaṃprati prayojakatvācceti” - tadapyasāraṃ - bījasyajanmani jananaṃ yena niru(4)pitameva nidānamaṅkurakāṇḍakaliśaprabhṛti -urṇavanayavanavanakusūlatalanimīlayadapi dātrasūrya (śūrpa) mṛtimukkuraprakramāditadanantaramupanayogyabelāvilokanekusū(6) lakakṣitadākaṣaprakarṣakṣetredharādhāmādisamavadhānamupasarppaṇapratyayapratibaddhamabhyavasitamakhilena pariṇatiparamparayā ca kiyatyā pūjyate saṅgatima(6)ñjasā aṅkurākhyaṃ kṣityādīnāṃ kāryaṃ nyakṣeṇālakṣita tadetasya pariṇatakāraṇaparamparāyāṃ bhindati sa svabhāvo vā bījasvabhāvo'cyutaprācyarūpo vā va (7) stuto'stviti vimarśapūrvakaṃ kharvvagarvabhṛtaḥ prastubate tatrānarthāntarajātibhedānumatirmateḥ puro nāpi prakṛtaprabandhānubandho bauddhānāṃ prasiddhaḥ siddhāntaḥ (8) punarīdṛśaḥ - nikhilāstrikarṇasukhaṃkurvāṇaḥ

tadyathā samarthaḥ kutaḥ utpanna iti cet svakāraṇebhyaḥ| tānyenamaparapratyayasannidhāna eva kiṃ janayanti ? kadācidanyathā syāt tataścaikopi kvacijjanayediti cet "aparāparapratyayayogena pratyabhikṣaṇaṃ bhinnaśaktayaḥ santanvantaḥ saṃskārāḥ yadyapi kutaścetsāmyātsarupāḥ pratiyante tathāpi bhinnaevai ṣāṃ svabhāvastena kiśñcideva kasyacitkāraṇamiti "kasmād” dṛśyāvāntarajātibhedopālambhaḥ sṛgallapallavitaḥ prabalajanavaduttānenāntaḥkaraṇaṃ prīṇāti prā (2) māṇikasya sthūlaparāmarśena hi vijātīyavyāvṛttavījāvarjitaṃ svakāryakāritvamavasthāpitamapi sūkṣmāvāntaraprasaṅgatadviparyayaparyālocanākhya vimarśāntaravṛtyā (3) bījatvādhiṣṭhitasvabhāvaviśeṣapratiṣṭhitaṃ prasādhyate kiṃ tatrānupapannaṃ nāma yathā davīyasi deśe viniveśitātmabhāvaṃ bhāvaṃ vibhāvya vṛkṣa ityavṛkṣavyāvṛttamavadhārayatyavadhā (4) raṇādhvarīṇodbhava janaḥ putraḥ sannidhānādhīnadhīviśeṣeṇa śiṃśapeti tatrāpyete nirūpaṇāt vakrakoṭarapaṭalaghaṭitasskandhasandhiriti svabhāvāntaramavagamya (5) mānamapi na vṛkṣatvaśiśapātva śūnyamavasīyate| na vā sarvovṛkṣaḥ śiṃśapā na vā sarve ca śiṃśapā vakrakoṭarapaṭalaghaṭitaskandhasandhiriti tathābhūtaṃ prastutama (7) pyastu vastuvyathāvyūhasyāpahateḥ anupahasita eva sādhyāsādhanabhāvaḥ bījatvameva hi sāmānyambidhirūpe'vasthitaṃ akhilāsu vyaktiṣu nāsmākamaṅgīkārago (7) caraḥ punaśca tatrāvāntarādṛśyajātibhedābhyupagamavādo vāvadūkakalpita evamucyate [muhyate] na puñjapuñjena pratyarthitaḥ, etaccāmbaravartmavartikamalaparimalālolarolambamānā (8) virāvakulāvagāhi, yaduta- sa khalu jātiviśeṣaḥ saṃgrāhako vā syāt pratikṣepako vā syāt - evaṃ śālitvamapi saṃgrāhakaṃ carapratikṣepakaṃ vā|” na ca nobhayamapītyādi (9) yathā vikalpakalpitapratidūṣaṇaprasaraḥ yasmātsmerāsyasarasīruhahārihasitenāpi nārpitasatyaṅkāraḥ kaścidapi vipaścidevaṃ vidhāvāntarajātibhede yādṛśastupa rāparapratyayaprabandhānubandhabodhitaḥ sāmānyasambhave'pi svabhāvabhedastathā prakhyāpitamanantaraṃ sahetu hetuvittasaṃspandanena yatpunaruktirucyate viśeṣasya viśeṣaṃ prati prayo (2) jakavirodhācce’ ti tatsiddhameva sādhayitumārabdham| tathāpi yadyapi kutaścit sā syāt sarūpāḥ pratīyante tathāpi bhinna evaiṣāṃ svabhāva iti bhāṣayā śālibījatvādhiṣṭhitāntyavyaktilakṣaṇañca (3) vilakṣaṇasvabhāvaviśeṣavibhrānta eva kartṛvādo'ṅkuraṃ pratisthūlaparāmarśavyavasthāpi tatkartṛbhāvabhājaṃ bījadharmmiṇaṃ adhyavasāyasāhityetarayoravasthayoḥ adhikaraṇakara (4) ṇe kalayā kalayitumaśakye virodhākarṣiprasaṅgaṃ tadviparyayapramāṇamaikyaparipanthipaśyatā dṛśyate hi prāmāṇikacakramaulilālitacaraṇayugalānā (5) mapyevaṃvidho kṣaṇavyāhāraḥ yathā pramāṇetataratāsādhāraṇavedavākyamākalayyādhikaraṇapramāṇāntareṇa prāmāṇyalakṣaṇasvabhāvāntarasādhanam| yathā vā (6) mahīmahīdharādiśaśadharakṛtetarādinā rūpeṇa saṃdigdhamapi dharmapurodhāya sādhanāntareṇa tanute jano jānāti cācaraṇīyacakrabahuviratitattvaṃ yaścāyamu(7) -pasaṃhāraḥ saṃddabdhaḥ| tasmādyo yathābhūto yathābhūtamātmano'nvayavyatirekāvanukārayati tasya tathābhūtasyaiva tathābhūte sāmarthyam, tadviśeṣāstu kāryaviśeṣaṃ prayojayanti śālyādivaditi yuktamutpaśyāma iti mayokto yasmātsthūlāskhalitapratyākalanena aṅkenādāya tasminnaṃśe niḥśaṅkaḥśaṅkaśukopilokaḥ| kathaṃkathi(9) -kastu tadavāntaravicāracakracaurapravyāvitasthūladṛṣṭiniviṣṭabuddhiḥ prameyaḥ pradāpyate| nāmunā nyāyeneti punarbhaṇāmaḥ| anyabījajātīyamapi ca kusūlamī lanānuktabījaṃ bījatvena nirūpaṇāt| anayoravasthayoḥ sthitaikasvabhāvatvaṃ viruddhatā prasaṅgādināpramāṇenāha prayojakamātreṇābījatvamāyātīti kena bhāvena bhāṣya-(1)-te| kintayoravasthayo sthitasya sthairya pratyakṣeṇa siddhamasti| atha tadvā syāttāddak cāsyānukaścidviśeṣamityabhisandhinā|

atha prasaṅgatadviparyayameva na kiñciditi kṛtvā| kiṃvā bījatvameva (3) sāmānyamātmasakalavyaktipratyekaparisamāptamūrtisahajaśaktisaśabditamāgantu śakti vyapadeśyaṃ sahakārisāhityasametamupalabdhamaṅkurajananayojyamanyathātve (4) bījatve iti manasi niveśya sthairyasya pratyakṣasiddhiparyālocanātśūnyatvānnādyaḥ| tādṛk tvamapi paryantavatināmeva bījānāmiti dvitīyopi na| prasaṅgatadvi (5) paryayapramāṇaṃ punarnirastasamastadūṣaṇam| abījaparāvṛtyā bījatvaṃ bahutamavyaktisammate'pi pūrvāparakālayorbīje niścāyayiṣyate tena nijāgantukaśaktipakṣo (6) pakṣeṇa vailakṣaṇyāviṣkaraṇamātramatrāṇaṃ aṃkurasya jātiniyamākarmmakatvaprasaṅgastuviparyayavādhakamabādhakameva yatī'bījaparāvṛttiviśeṣeṇa bījatva (7) vāṅkuratvaniyamasyopapatteḥ| etena viparyayopyanaikāntikaḥ kathitaḥ| bījaviśeṣa eva hi prayojako na tanmātraṃ bījasya pramāṇavṛtterbalavatvāt| sthūladṛṣṭyā tvevamavasthāpya tāṃ na vyavahārahāniḥ pratibandhasādhanopāyaḥ punaḥ sāpāyaḥ aṅkurasya hi jātiniyamo na tāvannirmittaḥ, sārvatrikaprasaṅgāt| nāpyanyanimittaḥ tathābhūtasyābhāvāt seyaṃ (2) nimittavatā vipakṣānnivartamānā svavyāpyamādāya bījaprayojakatāmeva viśrāmyatīti pratibandhasiddhirityevaṃ varṇitā bījatvādhiṣṭhitasvabhāvabhedasyānyāvasthārūpatayā tūpalakṣaṇa (3) stha aṅkuratvaniyamaṃ pratiprayojakatvāt| vyabhicāryeva bījatvamātramaṅkurasyaprayojakatāyāṃ bījasvabhāvatvamātraṃ nāṅkure prayojakam, prayojakaṃ punaḥ tatsvabhāvādhiṣṭhita-(4) śeṣādhiṣṭhitaṃ prayatamāne bījatvamupalabdhamiti sthūlakalanam, na rūḍhakaphalaṃ tat anālokitastattvasthaloti etadeva tvamiti nāsau vyavahāraḥ pāramārthika(5) ityetattadā evamavatārito vicāraḥ kathaṃ prastāvamavavisphūryate tena bījasvabhāvatvaṃ kvacitkārye prayojakatvaṃ na vā ? na cettatsvabhāvaṃ bījam, tena rūpeṇa (6) kaścidapyanupayogāt| evaṃ ca pratyakṣasiddhaṃ bīṃjasvabhāvatvannāsti sarvapramāṇāgocarastu viśeṣo'stīti viśuddhā buddhirityupahāsabhāvāpyupahasitabhāva(7) meva tiraskaroti| kvacidapyupayoge tvekasya tena rūpeṇa sarveṣāmaviśeṣa tādrūpyāditi| yadyapi kutaścitsāmyātsarūpā pratīyante tathāpi bhinna eva eṣāṃ (8) svabhāvastena kiñcideva kasyacitkāraṇamityanena tathātvaṃ yacca bhāva syāditi kathitaṃ tadapi aprāptasahakārisāhityābhyāṃ viśeṣādipariṇāmalakṣaṇasāmarthyakāraṇa-(9) tvāt| antyabījarūpatvābhāvāt prasiddharoṣastiṣṭhati| tadeva hi tanna pūrva na paratvāditi kiṃ mukhasyete tasmāṃtpratikṣaṇamaparāparayat kāryānukūlapratyaya sākalyamadhi śayya bījatvamavāntaraṃ svabhāvālambanaṃ samvedyate tadeka kāryaprati tathābhūtaṃ samvedyate tadekakāryaṃ prati tathābhūtaṃ tadeva prayojakamasadvādagrahaḥ yaduktamanena tathā ca (2) bījaṃ kiṃcideva svakārya kuryānnāparāṇi| na ca vastumātraṃ tatkāryaṃ abījādanutpattiprasaṅgāt | nāpi bījamātraṃ aṃkurakāriṇo'pi tadutpattiprasaṅgāt| nāpyaṅkurānyatamamātraṃ prāgapi tadutpattiprasaṅgāt| yadāyadutpannaṃ (3) sat yatkāryānukūlasahakārimadhyamadhiśete tadā tadeva kāya prati tasya prayojakamiti cet tatkimavāntarajātibhedamupādāya bījasvabhāvenaiveti vā ādye (4) sa eva jātibhedaḥ tatra prayojakaḥ kimāyātaṃ bījatvasya dvitīye tu samānaśīlānāmapi sahakārivikalpādakaraṇamityāyātaṃ tattatsahakāri sā (5)- hitye tattat kāryaṃ prati prayojakasya bījasvabhāvasya sarvasādhāraṇatvāditi| atrāpi prayogaḥ yat yena rūpeṇa arthakriyāsu nopamucyate na tattadrū paṃ yathā bī (6) jaṃ aṅkuratvena na kiṃcidpyakurvan na aṅkurasvarūpaṃ tathā ca śālyādayaḥ sāmagrīṃ praviṣṭādhibījatvenārthakriyāsu upayujyanta iti vyāpakānupalabdhiḥ (7) prasaṅgahetuḥ tadrūpatāyāṃ arthakriyāṃ pratiyogyatayā vyāptatvāt, anyathātiprasaṅgāt| tadrūpatvameva tasya pratyakṣasiddhatvādaśakyāpahravamiti cet - astu tarhi vi-(8)-paryayaḥ| yat yadrūpaṃ tattenārthakriyāsūpayujyate| yathā svabhāvena sāmagrī niveśino bhāvā bījajātīyārścaite kuśūlasthāsādayaḥ iti svabhāvahetuḥ tadrūpamātrā (9) nubandhitvāt yogyatāyāḥ tataścāsti kiñcitkāryaṃ yatra bījamupajyate| ityādirārambhe gambhīraḥ kaṇeravat tatsūramargalaḥ prasphuṭitaśaṃkha-(śṛṃga)-vat prabandho baddho vā bāla kathaya kutaḥ kutarke tvayā kalitaḥ| yataḥ pradarśādyānavadyavidyācāryaprakāṇḍaparipiṇḍinvīkṣikīkīrtitadharmakīrtikamatamaparāparapratyayogenetyādikaṃ prasaṅgo nāṅgasaṃgataḥ|
(2) tadrūpatāmātrasya vastuvat prasūtaprarohādikāryārjanayogyatayā vyāptyayogāt| kāraṇābhāvāt samarthasvabhāvānupapatteḥ| tathāhi tatra yo'vyavadhānādi deśabīja-(3)- viśvambharādikalāpaḥ sa sabhāgāṅkurakaraṇe samartho hetuḥ yasteṣāṃ parasparopasarpaṇāśraya pratyayaviśeṣaḥ (4) sa taddhetujanane samarthaḥ teṣāñca na pūrvaṃ na paścāt na pṛthak bhāva iti samarthānāmapi pūrvāparapṛthagbhāvabhāvino doṣā nopalīyante| tenaiṣā parasparopasarpaṇādiheturyaḥ samarthaheturiti tasya na kadācidanyathābhāvaḥ| anena (5) nyāyena sarvatra hetuphalabhāvapratiniyamaḥ draṣṭavyaḥ pratikṣaṇaṃ anyānyasvabhāvabhedānvayinīṣu bhāvaśaktiṣu na tu sthiraikabhāveṣu bhāveṣu svabhāvasyānyathātvāsaṃbhavāt (6) samarthāsamarthasvabhāvayoḥ kriyākriyāyogāt| anyasahitaḥ karoti cet kiṃ na kevala iti cet kiṃ kevalasya kāryakaraṇe'samarthaḥ svabhāvaḥ| samarthaḥ kiṃ na karoti? (7) akurvan kathaṃ samartha iti ? hetuvindāvācāryavacanamakalaṅkahariṇāṅkanirmalamapi svapakṣanirvāhavāhādhirohādiva pratyūhavyūhavyastamupanyastavān abhyasitamanīṣaḥ pā-(8) rśvakarāni utprekṣyate sāhityamupādhimadhiropya sāmarthyāsāmarthyāpekṣayā prasaṅgatadviparya yapratyāśāṃ śāti bhavān tatrāpyācāryavacanaṃ na sāhityepi para-(9) rūpeṇa kartā svarūpañcāsya prāgapīti prāgapi kuryāt| iti sāhityepi na sāhityaviśeṣaṇaṃ karaṇasāmarthya miti prasaṅgāt| proktaṃ vākyantu tataḥ svabhāvaniṣṭha-(10) mapratiṣṭhāpya prasaṅgo nāṅgasaṅgatimaṅgīkarotyuktameva|

nanu sati kṣaṇabhaṃga bhaṃgireṣāgurugariṣṭhopi śāstrakṛtaḥ tatprasādhakapramāṇaprasaṅgasaṅgatau durgatāṅganādohadalīlāṃ samudvahati picchilatattvatucchānacchārthā sa ya samūrcchalitā pakṣālakalaṅgaṇabharṅginaḥ sādhīyebhyo'pi samyebhyo bībhatsanta iti (2) naitadāścaryaṃ sahasreṇāpi hi niṣpīḍāmavadhānataḥ surapatirakṣāṃ vīkṣyamāṇo na prekṣate'sau sthitasthitasthityādisaṃvidhānādaparadaśāyāṃ bījasya janakatvamiti (3) sthirapakṣe kathamayaṃ niyamo mahanīyatāṃ nīyatāṃ kiṃ svahetudattamaryādatayā sāmagrayepi vā pratyekasāmarthyāsamarthamasahatayā vā paryantapratipannaparyantapratipannasaṃmūrcchanatādi sva-(4)-bhāvahīnatayā vā paripakṣādṛṣṭasadasatkarmanirmāṇanirmūlatayā vā dṛśyate tāvadevamevaṃ te kathamityanarthakaprathamakathā prathanādvā kaścarat purato gacchet svabhraṃ (5) vā svargameveti pakṣāḥ pañcendriyakalpanāt pañca vā upaskṛtasañcitānyaviṣayaniścayanānnādyā manasi vipaścitaḥ praviśati śakyamevamatathyamapi (6) sthāpayituṃ svakāraṇakalāpaparikalpitaṃ cakṣuṣo rūpaṃ yadidaṃ madīyo rūpaṃ ca samavaiti|

śabdamatha pratyāsīdantaṃ tadātmanā tulayati aparatrānyevaṃ viṣaye-(7)-'nuśāsanīyamiti tṛpañcatayī kalpanā pāramārthikī syāt grāhyā'rthaviṣayā upadravyaṃ bhāvayituṃ pāryante| svahetudattamaryādatayā yadekameva hi svahetuvihitaviśeṣa (8) pañca vā dhiyaṃ dhatte pañcaprapañcacakṣurādīndriyaprasādāditi tadanantaramaghātapariśīlinamapi (śīlanīyaṃ) ekaikaśaḥ kalitānvayavyatirekatvāt anyapariṇāmapraṇāśamā-(9)-śaṃsatāṃ pūrvāśivatātiḥ prativādasya prārabdhāpriyeṇa priyamanuṣṭhitam| karmmanirmāṇanaipuṇyaṃ na pramāṇayatā praṇetavyo vyomāntarjātoyo vījādi bhāva (grāmaḥ) tasya dṛṣṭābhiniviṣṭatve vā kāmaṃ anya pratīkṣo'stu, niyamastu virudhyata iti guruprabādhakapramāṇaprahāraḥ prakṛṣṭa āste| vādādikathā navyasya kathane ca vikṣepanigrahaprasaṅgaḥ (2) syāt pakṣapūjāviṣkaraṇamātramantimasapakṣe lakṣyate na punaradhikaṃ kiñcit|

tasmāt tathā tatkāraṇaṃ vastu tathaiva tadakāraṇam
yathā tatkāraṇaṃ kena mataṃ neṣṭamakāraṇam| (3)
svabhāvabhedena binā vyāpāro'pi na yujyate|
nityasyādhyatirekitvāt sāmarthyañca duranvanyam||

iti prasaṅgatadviparyaya preriṇāprasaraḥ sthiratve sati janakatvena nirṇītasyānti-(4)-ma pariṇāme brīhiviśeṣasyāvicala iti sthitamācāryavacanaṃ tasmāttatsvabhāvasya anyathātvāsambhavāt| taddharmaṇastu tathābhāvo'ntyāvasthāvadanivāryaḥ| antyāvasthāyāṃ-(5)-prāga samarthasya sāmarthyotpattau sāmarthyasya tatsvabhāvatve'pūrvotpattireva sā| atatsvabhāvatve sa prāgiva paścādapi akāraka eva| sāmarthyākhyātapadārthānta (6) rātkāryonpatteriti tasmātpratiṣṭhitasvabhāvabhāgī bhāvaḥ| ahetubhirjanyate na punaryayathānupratiṣṭhaḥ bījantu sati sahakārisākalye saṃdigdhe ni-(7)-ghananibandhanādhīnatvaṃ saśaṃsitasaṃbhāvanaṃ svahetunā janyata iti janyametat samastanyāyanīte|

pāratantryaṃ hi sambandhaḥ siddhe kā paratantratā|
tasmātsarvasya bhāvasya sambandho nāsti tattvataḥ|
rūpe śleṣo hi sambandho dvitve sati kathaṃ bhavet|
tasmātprakṛtibhiḥnnānāṃ sambandho nāsti tattvataḥ||
parāpekṣāpi sambandhaḥ so'san (9) kathamapekṣate|
saṃśca saṃvanirāśaṃso bhāvaḥ kathamapekṣate||

siddhāsiddhayorapekṣābhābādatyantasambhavī sambandhaḥ na siddhasyāsiddhaṃ kiñcidasti yadarthamapekṣyate yathā sāmānyātmanāsiddhaṃ viśeṣātmanārthamapekṣate aṅkurādiko bhāvaḥ niṣpattyaniṣpattivirudddharyādhyāsena bhinnatvāt siddhāsiddhavikalpānatikramāt tato na sahakārisāpekṣa-(2) balakṣapakṣādipadārthasārthasya sambhavaḥ svahetoḥ sambhāvanāspada nahi bhavati nijajanananigaḍaniyamita evāyaṃ naropasannamaunaniyama eva vācā vācaspati-(3) mapi picchayati| tasmātpramāṇaviruddha evārtho jñāpakena jñāpyate kāraka hetunā ca karaṇīya iti eṣa eva paramapramāṇikaḥ pracāraḥ|

yaccoktam “athavā vyatirekeṇa prayogaḥ (4) vivādādhyāsitaṃ bījaṃ sahakārivikalpaprayuktāṅkurādikāryavaikalyaṃ tadutpattiniścayaviṣayībhūtabījajātīyatvāt, tatpunaḥ sahakārivikalpaprayuktāṅkurādikārya (5) na bhavati tadevaṃbhūtajātīyam, yathā śilāśakalamiti etadapi na sasāhityepi pararūpeṇa kartā ityetena gatārthaḥ| aṃkurajanasvabhāvabhraṣṭabhāvādeva anā-(6)-virbhūtābhinavodbhidvījaṃ prāgavasthāyāmiti sthāpitameva| sthūlaparāmarśāśraye samāveśyābījavyāvṛttavījaviṣayamanvayavyatirekakalpanaṃ sūkṣmā'vā-(7)-ntaranirūpaṇaparāhanyamānamānasenāpi mantavyaṃ ko'tra mantrayate| tasmātsthūlaparāmarśāpekṣayā yadi svabhāvaviśeṣabhraṃśena nāsyāṅkurakāryavika(8) latvaṃ sādhyamevamanokāntaḥ| sūkṣmaprekṣāpakṣāpekṣatā yajjātīyatvamasiddham| sa eva hi tasya nāsti yastajjanakaḥ| niḥsvabhāva iti bhāvaḥ| tadatra paramārthaḥ satvaṃ (9) tu hetuḥ kṣaṇikatve kutaḥ sapakṣo jaladharaḥ sa ca sāśvadharmādhyāsito bodhanīyaḥ pramāṇena pramāṇañca prasaṅgaviparyaya tacca kiṃ vyāpāraṃ upapādyate| pūrvāparāvasthayoḥ karaṇākaraṇamadhyakṣaprekṣitaṃ lakṣyīkṛtya pramāṇāntarabādhādvā kādācitkānapekṣavat iti tarkopaniṣadācāryavacanādviruddhamekatve pūrvāparāvasthayorbījasya prānte prekṣitapratyekakartṛtvasya sādhayati karaṇākaraṇam| yasmādvirodhasya sāmānyalakṣaṇaṃ ca vicakṣaṇaḥ samācakṣāṇaḥ parabhāga-(3)-bhāgī tatra sāmānlayakṣaṇamekadharmaṇyanavasthitiniyatatvaṃ tacca sāmānyaṃ vyaktidvayātmanā viśeṣī syāt| sahānavasthānalakṣaṇaṃ parasparaparihārasthitalakṣaṇa-(4)-tākhyaṃ ca| tatra prācyasya (ādyasya) pratyakṣānupalambhapratyakṣāṇi sattā sādhyasiddhāni dvitīyasya punaranyonyabhedasiddhervā dhruvabhāvavināśavat pramāṇāntarabādhādvā| kādācit(5) kānapekṣavaditi vacanādupāyadvayamupanyastamāste| tatra tatkālaṃ kāritvamatatkālakāritvabhedena sidhyati viruddhaṃ na kālāntarākāritvena tadavacchede-(6)-nāsya vidhervidhuratvāt| yathā kādācitkamakādācitkatvena viruddhaṃ anapekṣatvamapi sāpekṣatvena|

atha cayenaiva pramāṇena kādācitkānapekṣa-(7)-yoḥ eka dharmiṇyanavasthitiniyatatvaṃ nirūpyate, tenaivānayorvirodho bodhasaudhādhirohī tadvatkālabhedena anāśritādimavirodhabodhopāyayora-(8)-pi karaṇākaraṇayoḥ prasaṅgaviparyayākhya makṣatapramāṇalakṣaṇamākhyāti, parasparapratyanīkatvamekadharmaṇyanavasthitiniyamaṃ nirūpayaditi palāyitaṃ pra(9) tyāśayā parasya ato yadaparamevamavādīt vādī tadapi dalitadardhamapasarpati sacivān|

astu bījatvameva prayojakam, bhavatu sahakārisannidhāne sati kartṛsvabhāvatvaṃ bhāvasya, tathā ca tadasannidhāne'karaṇamapyupapadyatām, tathāpi tajjātīyamātra eveyaṃ vyavasthā na tvekasyāṃ vyaktau karaṇākaraṇalakṣaṇaviruddha dharmādhyāsasya (2) tathā ca tadasaṃnidhāne pratyakṣasiddhatayā tatra durvāratvāditi cet-na virodhasvarūpānavavodhāt| sa khalu dharmayoḥ parasparābhāvarūpatvaṃ vā syāt nityānityavat(3) dharmiṇi tadāpādakatvaṃ vā śītoṣṇatvavat tadvatā vā daṇḍitva kuṇḍalitvavat|

nādyaḥ nirviśeṣaṇasyāsiddheḥ yāvatsatvaṃ kiñcittkaraṇāt| saviśeṣaṇasya tu virodhasiddhāva-(4)-pyadhyāsānupapatteḥ| yadāyadakaraṇaṃ hi tatkaraṇasyābhāvo na tvanyadā tatkaraṇasya na caitayorekadharmisamāveśamātiṣṭhāmahe| netaraḥ bhāvābhā(5) vavyatiriktayoḥ karaṇākaraṇāsiddheḥ vyāpārāparavyapadeśasahakāribhāvābhāvau hi karaṇākaraṇe kāryabhāvābhāvau vā| ati-(6)-rekasiddhāvapi svakāla evaṃ svābhāvapratikṣepavadakaraṇābhāvamākṣipet karaṇaṃ na tvanyadā| nahi yo yadā nāsti sa tadā svabhāvaṃ pratikṣeptumarha-(7)-ti, virodhyabhāvaṃ vā''kṣeptuṃ tathā sati na kadācidapi tatra syānna kadāpi tadvirodhī bhavediti| ‘nāsato vidyate bhāvo nābhāvo vidyate sata’ iti āyātaṃ na vā viro -(8)-dha ityādikamatarkya tārkikatvaṃ arkakarasaṃparkakarkaśagāminopo mano na sāntvayati asarpāyopetatvādamīṣāmasadvikalpānām| yat punaḥ prasaṅgavipa-(9)-rya yamadhikṛtyai vā (e) kābhidhānam “stāṃ vā tathāpi na tābhyāṃ śakyāśakyayoravivakṣita kāla bheda eva virodhaḥ, sādhyate tathopasaṃhartuṃ aśakyatvāt|” yadā tadetyupekṣya(10) yatsamartha tat karotyevetyupasaṃhartuṃ śakyamiti cet na kāla niyamāvivakṣāyāṃ yat samartha tat karotyeva kadācidit syāt| tathā ca sambhava vidheratyantā yogo viruddhaḥ, na tvayogaḥ nīlaṃ sarojaṃ bhavatyeveti vat iti| tadapi ayogo'tyantāyīgavyavacchedenāpi sarvadā bījasya satve sambhavantu katṛtvamityabhimatatvāt malinanalina-(2)- nibhaṃ nibhālanīyaḥ|

yaccoktam - "nanu yadasamatha (tvaṃ) prathamamāsīt, tasya paścādapi sāmarthya kuta āgatam| prathamaṃ samarthasya nā paścāt tatra gataṃ naitadevaṃ tattatsahakārimataḥ (3) tatkārakatvaṃ hi sāmarthya, atadvatastadanyavato vā tadakartṛ tvamasāmarthyamidañcautpattikamasya rūpamiti|” tadapi sahakārisāpekṣajananabījavimarśena gatam te ca (4) sahakāriṇaḥ svopasarppaṇa pratyayavaśādbhinnakālā ityarthāt kāryāṇāmapi bhinnakālateti tathāpyekakālastha eva bhāvo jāto naṣṭastadā kāryaṃ karotu utpannamā (5) trasya tatsvabhāvatvāt| ekadeśasthavaditi cet -seyamekakālatā svarūpakālāpekṣayā sahakārisāṃnidhyāpekṣayā vā ādye na kiñcidanupapannaṃ (6) nityānāmapi evaṃ rūpatvāt, vartamānaikarūpatvādbhavānāṃ tadeva tu kvacitsāvadhi kvacinniravadhīti viśeṣaḥ| sāvadhitvepi vyāpāraphalapravāhaprakarṣāpraka-(7)-rṣābhyāṃ viśeṣaḥ| dvitīyastu syādapi yadi teṣāṃ yaugapadyaṃ bhavet| kramiṇastu sahakāriṇa ityuktam| sahakārisahitaḥ svabhāvena karotīti vaktari jā-(8)-ta naṣṭa eva karotu ityuttaraprasaṅgo nirargalaśaiśavasyetyalamanena| tasmātkāryasya sa eva kālaḥ kāraṇasya sacānyaśceti sambandhikālāpekṣayā pūrvakālatā vyavahā-(9)-raḥ| etadapi sahakārisākalyaviśeṣaṇakaraṇanirākaraṇādalīkaṃ parikalpanamanalpaṃ śalyacakrasātabhājanam deśabhedena tu kartṛtvākartṛtvamupalabdhaṃ ānyākṣepaṃ upayanātmahasitasahacarañca na virodhatvādi (2) sanamāpannaḥ| tenaiva sahakāreṇa tasyaiva tadaiva tathaiva sambaddhatvamasambaddhatvaṃ ca pūrvāparavelāyāmaniścita “astu tarhi tasyaiva tenaiva sahakāriṇa sahasambandho'sambandhaśceti (3) virodhaḥ na vikalpānupapatteḥ| tathāhi sambandhinaḥ sambandhyantare svābhāvasvābhāvyaṃ vā virudhyeta, abhāva pratiyogitvaṃ vā, tadaiveti sahitaṃ vā, tatrai vati (4) sahitaṃ vā, ubhayasahitaṃ vā, tathaiveti sahitaṃ vā ? vikalpakrameṇa (1) taduddharaṇavaktavyañcācakṣitamālocanīyam| (5) tathāhiśaśaśṛṃgasya|

ñca ye yogyamayogyaścāpi jāyate||
nityaṃ yogyasvabhāvasya tadvikalpavirodhataḥ|
iti tyogyatāvācyaḥ svabhāvo'sya nirupcyatām|
vibhāgayogajāti-(6)-bhiḥ kimanyairgamanādibhiḥ|
teṣu satyepi tasyeti, sambandhasyāprasiddhitaḥ||
yuktaḥ svabhāvabhedo'yaṃ tatpratikṣaṇajanminām|

iti nyāyāt yadi saṃsargayo-(7)-gyaḥ svabhāvo bījasya nijo nāpaiti kadācana tadā svābhāvasvabhāvavatvamatṛṇahetuṃ kathamuktaṃ nānyat karmma iti| śeṣaṃ tu phalguvarjitaṃ anargalabālatvasyetyādi (1) tamālokasya| atha kādācitkaṃ tadrūpaṃ tadeva nirūpyatāṃ nibandhanaṃ ............... dipi yaḥ kimadhikeneti dhūrtatvena|
